Following the decision to close up to 20 outlets and focus upon a smaller number of profitable restaurants, Byron contacted Ramco Foodservices to discuss the disposal of their surplus catering equipment. After undertaking a couple of trial sites, Ramco was commissioned to undertake the removal and resale of equipment from all sites around the UK, from Aberdeen to Exeter.
‘Having engaged with the Ramco UK team to see how they could help us with our stripout plans, I was impressed with how they went through what services they could offer us, explaining their process step by step. It almost sounded too good to be true, yet with a little apprehension we proceeded with our first site.
What impressed me the most was their determination and professionalism in completing the works agreed. The team completed all works to schedule and managed our expectations in an exemplary manner. I cannot recommend the Ramco team enough. Using their team for any stripout works is now an obvious choice.'
Richard Pratt, Head of Construction for Byron Hamburgers.
To ensure minimum disruption the Ramco key account manager agreed a scope of works with each site. A full audit trail of every asset, from the fridges and fryers to beer and gherkins was maintained throughout, tracking items from the point of removal to their ultimate resale destination.
‘Ramco provided a compliant and completely transparent disposal service for Byron. The added benefit was turning surplus assets – including gherkins, into much needed cash.’
Matt Carpenter, Business Development Manager for Ramco.
Byron runs 67 restaurants and employs about 1,800 people across the UK specialising in one thing – serving simple, delicious hamburgers. Ramco specialise in decommissioning; equipment refurbishment and resale.
